Samsung Galaxy S25: All the rumours so far

Samsung Galaxy S25 All the rumours so far There are only a few seconds left to get your hands on Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone, the Galaxy S25. Although there is still some time left, the company’s upcoming flagship phone will undoubtedly be one of the best phones when it is released.

Samsung Galaxy S25 All the rumours so far

Therefore, we anticipate that the Galaxy S25 will implement all the necessary iterative enhancements to maintain its position as one of the top Android smartphones available. Also, considering all the Galaxy AI features that come with the Galaxy S24, it is highly likely that Samsung will release the Galaxy S25 with even more impressive AI-powered capabilities.

We have compiled a list of things we would like to see with the Galaxy S25 Ultra as leaks are slowly revealing ideas and hints about what to expect from the Galaxy S25. Below is the information we currently know about the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Rumored release date and price

In the past, Samsung has typically released its flagship series early in the year, in January or February. At Galaxy Unpacked on January 17, 2024, the Galaxy S24 was revealed. It was made available for purchase on January 31, 2024. Given this, we believe the Galaxy S25’s 2025 launch and announcement will coincide with those anniversaries.

It will be interesting to see if Samsung pushes the Galaxy S25 announcement date. After all, the Galaxy S24 was unveiled a week ahead of schedule. If that happens, it could compete with its other announcements at CES 2025.

We expect the Galaxy S25 price to not change much. Samsung launched the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra at $799, $999, and $1,299, respectively; the S24 Ultra was the only model whose price increased compared to last year. The current price of the Galaxy S25 should remain unchanged; this could only happen if one of its competitors, Apple, raises the price of the iPhone 16 later in the fall.

However, a leaker pointed out that the increased price of the Galaxy S25 is mainly due to the higher cost of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 CPU, which is likely going to power some models. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared a worrying observation, pointing out that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will use an expensive 3nm technology. Although the Galaxy S25 is still a long way from launch, it is a claim that should be investigated further.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Design and Display

While increasing the display size of the Galaxy S25 is a quick way, Samsung could make a bigger change in the design. According to well-known leaker Yeux1122, the Galaxy S25’s screen is expected to grow from the Galaxy S24’s 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches. This would essentially be on par with the iPhone 16 Pro’s larger display size. Given that Samsung has reduced the bezels on the S24 compared to the S23, we assume the phone will be slightly larger than the S23 to fit the larger screen. However, Samsung could at least make the Ultra model rounder at the back so it’s easier to hold in your hand.

Apart from the possibility of a larger display, the Galaxy S25’s design should remain recognizable. That is to say, the titanium frame should remain exclusive to the S25 Ultra, while the S25 and S25 Plus should feature the same armored aluminum frame. However, there’s still plenty of time for things to change as more leaks emerge.

Regarding its screens, Samsung made a point of saying that 2,600-nit screens are available on all three Galaxy S24 variants. Still, none of them even came close to achieving those claims in our own benchmark testing. However, that won’t stop the business from improving this one specific function with the Galaxy S25.

More importantly, however, Samsung may not experience another display issue similar to the Mura effect on the Galaxy S24, which results in cloudy displays when the display brightness is lowered. Using the Galaxy S24 Plus and S24 Ultra, we conducted our own tests to confirm that both phones exhibit the Mura effect.

Samsung Galaxy S25:  PERFORMANCE

One of the first leaks of the Galaxy S25 suggests a greater speed boost, which comes from Qualcomm’s next processor. The Snapdragon 8 Generation 4 chipset, which is speculated to break new ground with a clocked speed of 4GHz (or possibly 4.26GHz), will most likely power the Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 may get an edge over its competitors in this new market as Qualcomm is reportedly moving to 3-nanometer production technology for its upcoming processors.

A new rumor has surfaced about Samsung’s chip plans, despite reports that Samsung will only use the Exynos 2500 as its system-on-chip and that the company intends to employ both the Exynos 2500 and Snapdragon 8 Generation 4 in the Galaxy S25. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, every Galaxy S25 variant will only feature the Snapdragon 8 Generation 4 processor. (Hence, the price hike Kuo mentioned.) Another report, which is from Korea, claims that Samsung and MediaTek are in a deal to supply processors for some S25 variants. Will work on contract.

Due to the expected increase in processing power of Snapdragon 8 Generation 4, the Galaxy S25 may require a larger battery to supply the necessary juice to the chip. Other unintended consequences could include slower charging or shorter overall battery life compared to existing versions.

Given that UFS 4.1 is expected to be released for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, that phone could get an additional performance bump. Since UFS 4.0 is used by the majority of Galaxy S24 devices, the increase will be a gradual but still a performance boost that will support any AI features introduced with the new phones.

Additionally, satellite connectivity will be a significant connectivity boost for the Galaxy S24 series. This will facilitate off-grid messaging, especially for emergency services.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Cameras

Samsung phones have been nearly unbeatable when it comes to cameras, as seen by the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s dominance over all other phones on our list of the best camera phones for 2023. However, that all changed when the Galaxy S24 was released due to the controversial decision to downgrade the S24 Ultra’s optical zoom camera to 5x.

Samsung has its work cut out with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as our zoom test showed a clear difference between the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. An improved primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera (up from the 12MP one on the S24 Ultra), and a new telephoto camera with “convertible capabilities” have all been mentioned in early rumors.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra was supposed to have the latter feel, although the S25 Ultra seems to be a better fit. This could be a hint at something else, or it could mean that we have a variable telephoto camera that can shift at different zoom levels. Consider the latest Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which has a variable aperture that can be adjusted to different degrees. Since zooming has always been the Ultra’s strong point, we sincerely hope Samsung makes up for lost time by succeeding in this regard.

For the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung might ditch the 3x telephoto zoom, according to a report. Instead of the quadruple camera system the show is known for, it will create a three camera setup. This claim has been made by leaker @ISAQUES81 based on a prototype being tested by Samsung. On the other hand, S25 Ultra leaker Ice Universe claims that the device still has four camera lenses. The leaker claimed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s ultrawide and secondary telephoto lenses, which now use 50MP sensors instead of the S24 Ultra’s 12MP and 10MP sensors, need to be upgraded. Other leakers have also reiterated this claim.

There’s been less talk about the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus’ cameras at the moment. This is one of the few signs that Samsung is using Sony’s rather than ISOCELL camera sensors. Leakers Galax claims that the S25 and S25 Plus’ cameras won’t benefit from a megapixel boost or a different layout.

Samsung has introduced new camera sensors recently, and given that the 50MP ISOCELL GNJ sensor is nearly identical to the one found in the S24 and S24 Plus, we wouldn’t be surprised if we see it in an S25 device. Anti-refractive layer and pixel isolation are two features of the lens that improve light capture, reduce reflections, deliver more accurate shadows and improve color reproduction.

No matter what Samsung does with this project, it can’t afford to lose out to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is considered the best camera phone overall.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Battery and charging

If the claimed power efficiency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is confirmed, the Galaxy S25 could break all previous records. With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 reportedly built using a 3-nanometer manufacturing method, all three variants of the Galaxy S24 easily boast significantly longer battery life than their predecessor. This could lead to longer battery life on the Galaxy S25.

We expect the Galaxy S25 to have at least the same battery life as the S24. Although there has long been speculation that Samsung will incorporate stacked batteries in its flagship series, there is currently no concrete evidence that the S25 will do so. Meanwhile, multiple reports suggest that Samsung will continue to use a 5,000 mAh battery for the S25 Ultra.

The charging capability of the phone is one feature that is in dire need of improvement. With the Galaxy S24, Samsung maintained the same 25W wired charging speed, so an update for the Galaxy S25 would be much appreciated. This is because 45W wired charging speed is available for both the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. However, since the OnePlus 12 is clear that you can fully charge your phone in less than 30 minutes, the possibility of improving charging further with the S25 series has increased even more.

Finally, since the Galaxy S9 was the last model in the series to support 15W wireless charging, Samsung will need to improve wireless charging speeds across the Galaxy S25 line as well. It’s past time for an update, especially since the OnePlus 12 has a 50W 15W charging speed.Wireless charging speed is.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Galaxy AI Features

Samsung will need to develop even more Galaxy AI capabilities for the Galaxy S25 after releasing some of them with the S24. We’ve put several Galaxy AI capabilities to the test, like Voice Recorder Summary, Generative Edit, and Instant Slow-Mo, and the results show that many of them have real-world use. Meanwhile, some are on the verge of novelty.

Although there have been no leaks about the new Galaxy AI features coming to the Galaxy S25, a Samsung executive did mention that generative AI could be included in the Bixby personal assistant. But everyone is wondering how long these features will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S25 or whether they will be included in other models as well. This is due to a software update that is bringing many of the Galaxy S24’s exclusive Galaxy AI functions to older Samsung phones.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Outlook

Samsung has a tough task ahead of it in the form of the Galaxy S25. There’s undoubtedly more pressure on its flagship phone, as when the Galaxy S24’s processing power and battery life are stripped out, the improvements are negligible. This is even more true now, as the same Galaxy AI functions are available on the S23. Big improvements to the Galaxy S25’s camera and charging time are even more important.
